The Role

We are now looking for a driven and engaged Drilling Planner who wants to contribute to sustainable mining operations in Pajala. As a Drilling Planner, you will be part of the planning department at the mine, responsible for both short-term and long-term extraction planning, with areas of responsibility such as surveying, geology, and grade control. The work involves operating in an area of constant change, which places high demands on safety awareness and security. Since our operations take place within the Kaunisvaara mine area, we expect you to be stationed on-site.

Responsibilities

As a Drilling Planner, your main tasks involve monitoring, reviewing, and implementing measures for the entire drilling cycle at the Kaunisvaara mine area, e.g., drilling plans, drilling operations, and follow-up. You will work closely with colleagues in mine planning and production.

If you have competence in blasting technology, this will also be included in the responsibilities, e.g., work with initiation plans and blast directions.

Education and Qualifications

We are looking for you who have relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience assessed by the employer as equivalent. We would like you to have experience working in mining or mine planning.

For this position, proficiency in Swedish (both spoken and written) and the ability to express yourself verbally in English are required. You must also hold a Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles.

Meritorious qualifications include:

• Previous experience working in a mining environment, e.g., as a drill operator or knowledge of mine planning.
• Experience with drilling planning, drilling patterns, and production drilling.
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and CAD programs.
• Experience with loading and blasting, initiation plans, and blast directions.
• Experience with software such as Deswik, Minestar, or O-Pitblast is a further advantage for this role.
• Education as a mining engineer or blasting technology-related training is highly meritorious, but not a requirement.
